8 Great Mobile Games

Mobile games are frowned upon in the gaming community. Do yourself a favour, dismiss all of the negativity and give some of these a try. I challenge anyone to play all, or even some of the games on this list and still have the same attitude about mobile games. Naturally some of the titles listed are available on other platforms but we all have a mobile phone, right?

Dadish 2

Platforming and storytelling genius with enough humour to keep things light. The gameplay is tight and the level of challenge is, in my humble opinion, exceptional!

About the game

He’s a dad, and a radish, and he’s back in his biggest adventure yet! After an impromptu “Bring Your Kids To Work Day” goes awry, Dadish sets off to find his missing children. Along the way he’ll wade through swamps, ride rockets, climb a big tree, and even visit outer space! Help reunite Dadish with his missing kids in this charming and challenging platforming adventure.

Desert Golfing

A meditative experience with endless gameplay and fantastic physics.

BAIKOH: Words & Brain Challenges

Words, do you like being stressed out. Do you like Tetris and word games. Play this if you answered yes to both or either of those questions.

About the game

Sup human? I’m BAIKOH, a new and unique free word game, very different from what you are used to. I challenge your vocabulary and skill, try to write words by tapping tiles that randomly fall from the top of your screen, each tile has a letter so (hopefully)… you’re getting the idea, genius.

Write words quickly and constantly to destroy tiles and keep them from reaching the top of your screen, or just use power-ups to make everything explode. That will work too.

Chrono Trigger

I am not looking to patronise anyone so I will just assume that everyone already knows about this one. Expensive but an excellent mobile port of a legendary game.

About the game

The timeless RPG classic returns loaded with upgrades! Journey to the forgotten past, to the far future, and to the end of time. A big adventure to save the planet, now begins…

Dandara: Trials of Fear Edition

Unique physics and an intriguing story make this a must-play for fans of shooters and platformers alike.

About the game

The world of Salt hangs on the brink of collapse. The citizens, once free spirits, now stand oppressed and isolated. But not all is lost, for out of this aether of fear arises a heroine, a ray of hope. Her name is Dandara.

Blown Away: First Try / Secret of the Wind

Phone tapping at its finest. Great for when you are short on time but in need of your gaming fix.

About the game

Hendrik is a schlimazel! All he has left is one last hair on his head, and a pair of teleporting shoes. Everything else was blown away by the wind. Let yourself get carried away and find the scattered remains of Hendrik’s house. Charge your batteries and teleport Hendrik through ever-moving levels.

Slay

Perfect strategy game in a similar vein to Risk and Catan. Although there are similarities to these great board games, Slay slays it in its own way.

About the game

Slay is a simple to learn game of strategy and cunning set in medieval times. The island is divided up between the six players, and you must try to capture your enemies’ land and link up your own territories to create larger and stronger ones. You begin capturing land by attacking with your peasants. Once your territories become richer you can combine peasants to make stronger and stronger people (Spearmen, Knights and then Barons) who can kill weaker enemy troops, or knock down their castles. Just be careful that you don’t create too many expensive men or the territory will go bankrupt!

Wayward Souls

Roguelike + dark souls = top-down hack and slash, up there with the rest of the games on this list for sure.

About the game

Wayward Souls is an action-adventure game built for quick playthroughs and massive amounts of replay value. It was inspired by our previous game, Mage Gauntlet.

Google Play / App Store

Open your mind. Stop taking your Nintendo Switch to the toilet and enjoy the hell out of these gems. Obviously not everyone is averse to mobile gaming and just might give some of these a go, if you have not already.
