PlayStation Games That Should Be Remastered For PS5

Next-gen consoles recently entered our lives in 2020. For now, the developers have not fully unlocked the true power of the next-gen consoles, which generally takes about a year. However, we have seen some fantastic games nonetheless. We will definitely see some remastered PlayStation games in the future and we can’t wait to see what Sony has in store for us. With that said, remember to stock up on some PlayStation Network Cards for any future purchases!

Some PlayStation titles have grown to become classics and we’re sure that many of you are wondering how it would feel like to play them with today’s technology. This is especially true since the new consoles allow us to play up to 4K with much more power and high-end graphics. Today we are going to take a look into some PlayStation games that we think should be remastered for the PS5.

FIFA Street

FIFA Street

FIFA by EA Sports is one of the most popular games in the world. The number one address for the football fans is FIFA. FIFA Street was one of the most popular games of its time, and EA continued with the series up until 2012. However, we have not heard from it since.

FIFA Street was a different game when compared to today’s FIFA. The game was 4v4 and it was dependent on skill. The acrobatics, passing, and scoring was a joy to experience. Interestingly some even argued that the game could be brought in as an esports title. We believe that the time has come to give one more chance to FIFA Street.

Silent Hill

Silent Hill

Horror games have improved drastically over the years for sure, but the classics are still really good. If you are missing the classical horror games, then Silent Hill is the one you should pick back up. It is quite surprising that we did not see a remake of this amazing franchise just yet.

Silent Hill was a true horror game, which defined the horror genre and even today’s horror games follow a similar setting and pace. After all, we are talking about a game that was turned into a whole movie. Horror games have gotten a bigger following over the last few years and Silent Hill definitely deserves a remake.

Elder Scrolls IV: Oblivion

Oblivion

We all remember Skyrim, but what about Oblivion? The game was released for PS3 and it was an absolute gem. Elder Scrolls IV: Oblivion received amazing scores from critiques. Oblivion was a great adventure for all RPG lovers. Even though Skyrim was milked by Bethesda, Oblivion is still untouched and many will be looking forward to a remake until Elder Scrolls Online 6

Oblivion will still hold its place as a great adventure game, so why not make a remake of it? Just imagining the game with PS5 graphics and tech makes our hearts beat a little bit harder.

Battlefield 3

Battlefield

The Battlefield series is still considered as one of the best shooters in the world, even though Battlefield V was an absolute fail. Battlefield 3 however, was a huge success and it was seen as the ultimate modern shooter game. The Battlefield series is defined by big battles and modern-day weaponry which is perfect for this type of gameplay. The amazing tactical combat of Battlefield 3 is sorely missed in the gaming world.

We have not seen a Battlefield game for some time now and we know that DICE is working on a new title. EA and DICE will put in extra effort in the future for sure, due to the success of Call of Duty and Warzone. Fingers crossed, there will hopefully be a possibility of us seeing a remastered version of Battlefield 3 sometime in the future.

Syphon Filter

Syphon Filter

As one of the most exhilarating stealth games of all time, Syphon Filter deserves a remake for sure. This game is an experimental fluid genre of stealth, action and puzzle which was rare at the time. Syphon Filter offers players a wide array of weapons and equipment. There have been many talks about making a remastered version of this game, so hopefully one of them comes through.

The remaster of this classic will be an amazing one for sure. Syphon Filter was truly a unique game for the stealth genre and we think it deserves so much more credit and attention.

Legacy Of Kain: Soul Reaver

Legacy Of Kain Soul Reaver

A 20-year-old title, Legacy Of Kain: Soul Reaver places us into the shoes of a vampire looking for revenge. The world of Soul Reaver is unique, and the story is an exceptional one. This PS1 game changed the gaming world as we know it. Today, we don’t have many gothic-themed games anymore. So fans of the gothic genre are patiently waiting for another game like this.

The world of Nosgoth is exciting and terrifying all around. This ultimate hack and slash game would be a joy to play with HD graphics coupled with ray tracing technology. A dedicated fan of the series even created an HD mode of the game, however, we have not seen a full remake of it just yet.

Bushido Blade

Bushido Blade

Samurai game Bushido Blade had an interesting approach to combat. The game was ahead of its time with its combat mechanics. Ready to play without any health bars? Most fights are a 1v1 duel style and the fights in this game are so intense sometimes they last for 20 minutes. Damaged limbs affect your movement speed and made fighting more realistic. If you make a mistake during a fight, you might be killed instantly.

Bushido Blade does not forgive any mistakes made by its players. This gem will be 25 years old in 2022, which is an amazing time for a sequel or remaster. There are rumours about a sequel for the game but nothing official has been confirmed just yet.

Metal Gear Solid

Metal Gear Solid

Another amazing PS1 game is Metal Gear Solid. This Hideo Kojima game is an all-time classic. A great stealth game that is guaranteed to make your heart beat faster. Metal Gear Solid was such a good game it inspired many stealth games we see even to this day. Roaming in a nuclear weapons facility with Solid Snake was not an easy feat. The game featured numerous bosses each with their own unique abilities. According to reports, we might actually see a remastered version of it really soon.

To Sum Up

Today’s consoles are extremely strong and offer developers countless ways to improve upon their games. The new-gen consoles are definitely more immersive and more accessible when compared to their predecessors. We have seen many remastered games over the years.

Some of these remakes were amazing, but some, unfortunately, have lost their touch. After all, remakes are about giving back the same experience (if not better) with today’s technology. After the success of many remastered games, studios are refocusing on these, so get ready to reminisce the good old days.
