Today publisher EA gave us a first look at upcoming title Star Wars: Squadrons. Developed by Motive Studios it could be the last title we see from EA under their original ten-year agreement with the iconic licence.
Squadrons is set after the Battle of Endor and will focus on starfighter combat in an immersive piloting experience. The campaign follows the story of two characters as they fly in the New Republic’s Vanguard Squadron and the Empire’s Titan Squadrons respectively. Alongside the story-driven narrative, the game will also have a sizable multiplayer element allowing you to fully realise your dreams of space combat opposed to the slim offerings in Battlefront. Let’s just hope that EA has learned from the experience of their previous micro-transaction crippled launches.
Star Wars: Squadrons is currently set to release on PlayStation 4, Xbox One and PC this October and it’s pretty safe to assume we will also hear of next-gen editions over the coming weeks and months. For now, here’s the reveal trailer.
