Happy holidays, everyone! We hope you’re enjoying the season and not spending too much time running away from relatives who won’t stop asking when you’re having kids and parties where you don’t know anyone. But in case you need to escape into the soft, gentle arms of TV or computer screen, we’ve got a few suggestions on what you can watch.
Welcome to Anime Spotlight–a monthly column where the Two Beard Gaming crew shares a few anime we’ve enjoyed, and hopefully, you’ll share a few with us, as well. Fingers crossed we all find something cool and new to watch, and a peppy end credits song will roll.
Here’s what we’re digging this month:
Humanity Has Declined
In a post-apocalyptic future, the remaining humans try to maintain good relations with the growing fairy population. While the story is a little all over the place, we loved this show’s candy-coloured black humour.
Juni Taisen: Zodiac War
Every twelve years, twelve warriors (each representing one of the animals of the Chinese zodiac) gather for a fight to the death. This is battle royale as a medium for telling short stories. Very entertaining.
Kenichi: The Mightiest Disciple
Fifteen-year-old pushover Kenichi Shirahama is rescued from bullies by new student Miu Fūrinji. After Miu introduces him to the martial arts masters who live at her family’s dojo, Kenichi embarks on a quest to get stronger. Funny and exciting with a killer opening theme.
Thanks for joining us for Anime Spotlight! Leave us a comment to let us know what you’re watching. Until next month, じゃあね!
