WWE: NXT Results & Recap – May 9th, 2019

This week’s episode started off with Mia Yim vs Bianca Belair. Not a lot happened here. After Belair tried pinning Yim with her hands on the ropes, Belair uses her hair for leverage on the ropes for the win.

After the match we are shown footage from security cameras earlier that day of the Forgotten Sons attacking the War Raiders while leaving the gym. Some more footage is shown of Baszler and her gang practising at the Performance Center. Soon enough Io comes from behind and attacks Baszler, causing a bunch of people to come in and break up the fight.

The next match was Raul Mendoza Mendoza vs Riddick Moss. Moss has been away for a while due to injury and has this new shtick though. It’s the Riddick Regimen. He was drinking water during the match. Started the match using a resistance band. And he also had this other device he was rubbing on his body. I have no idea what it was but it’s a safe assumption it dealt with health and fitness. This really seemed to be the spotlight of this match. Mendoza would get the win in the end with a slingshot twisting splash.

For the main event we got Matt Riddle vs Adam Cole. This was an incredible match. There was a ton of chain attacks and reversals to go along with that. At the end of the match, Roderick Strong came out to help Cole get back in the ring. During this spot, Strong took a hit from Riddle then Riddle rolled Cole back in the ring. While Riddle was getting back in the ring he was greeted with a superkick. When Cole went for the pin, Riddle reverses and puts in the Bromission for the win. After the match, Cole and Strong started arguing and had to be broken up by the other members of the Undisputed Era. Causing yet even more turmoil in the group.

And that wraps it up for this week’s NXT. It was about 10 minutes shorter than usual but that’s not always a bad thing. Next week Kushida will be in his second match with the brand with no other announced matches so far. Thanks for watching and long live wrestling!
